IMO, the only thing CETME C kits are worth are as spare parts or as a project to challenge a home builder. Outside of that they are practically worthless. To have a pro build one you'll spend twice as much money on the rifle than it'll be worth when completed.

WebApr 2, 2024 · A FAL is probably easier to build than a G3/Cetme. I think everyone needs a .308 rifle. Old iron designs like Fals and g3 clones are reliable and fun, but they are heavy. The M1A clone of an M14 is a fun reliable and accurate rifle right out of the box and fairly available. A nice .308 AR-15 checks a lot of boxes as well.
WebDec 20, 2016 · I used a 5.5" CAR15 flash hider and cut it down to around 4.5" and cut 4 grooves in it to make a 4 prong flash hider. Happy how it turned out, be better if I had a mill but used a drill press, files and a dremel tool. Cold blued it after. HK 91s can be 2000 and up. CETMEs can be found in the 4-500s and go up from there. Your bud's description sounds like a Century-built CETME.
