Example is putting wider tires then recommend on narrow rims, the footprint is different than the footprint on wider rims at the same psi. The chalk test is valuable information but that's all it is.
WebMay 19, 2024 · Joined Jun 5, 2014. 2,927 Posts. #7 · May 17, 2024. Ditch the chalk test method, its for the noobs and usually does not result in a good pressure to be at as you have found out. Pick a pressure you like, say 28 cold, buy a tread depth tool and monitor the wear. Adjust as needed.
