WebIn Irish folklore, Gáe Bulg was the spear of Cúchulainn, the hero of the Ulster Cycle. It was forged from the bone of the Coinchenn, a sea monster, which was killed fighting another sea monster, the Curruid; this explains the water resistance. Cúchulainn received the spear after training with the great warrior master Scáthach in Alba.

WebSep 26, 2024 · This is my own interpretation of Coinchenn, a monster whose name means "Dog-Headed" but apparently is a A marine tentacled horror made of fish, whale, and octopus-like features. I wanted it to look ginormous and monstrous. I made Coinchenn's head look fish-like but with a crown of coral-like shell plating, similar to crabs and lobsters.
