Reason I ask is I'm getting a pair of XXX speakers in trade and am thinking about X'ing them in my 5150 cab to hold me over until I outfit it with all new speakers. I did an A/B test with my (then) V30 loaded Legacy cab vs the 5150 cab, and to my ears the 5150 cab sounded better.

WebI'd been looking for the matching 112 cab, and was finally able to find one last week. It has the stock Peavey Sheffield speaker which seems to pair well with the Cannabis Rex. The amp and cab both seem to be in fairly decent shape for being almost 30 years old! I've had a Peavy Classic 30 for about 30 years as well. WebNov 5, 2024 · The speakers, to my ears, are tighter and warmer sounding. My second recommendation would be the Celestion G12H-75 Creambacks. They're slightly brighter than the 65's (not by much, though) but they sound just as good.
