With her maternity pay she will get around £500 a month, I assume she will get taxed the normal % amount she would have got taxed if she was earning her normal full pay? WebJul 29, 2014 · Anything you get paid over smp is taxable. Different companies work out the tax differently. I was getting tax rebates while on mat leave as I'd already paid too much tax. The new tax year also had a new tax threshold (you could earn more before tax) which may have meant that people have not earned enough yet to be taxed. Hope that makes sense.
