Web25 Apr 2024 · Estimation of underwater radiated noise of submarines has a great importance both in preliminary and detailed design stages. In this study, the hydro-acoustic performance of DARPA Suboff (AFF-8) appended form has been investigated by CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) approach based on Finite Volume Method (FVM). The SUBOFF AFF-8 provides a large amount of experimental data available from the DARPA SUBOFF project. Liu and Huang ( Citation 1998 ) summarized all collected data (Groves et al., Citation 1989 ; Crook, Citation 1990 ) that serve as the final database for future submarine flow research.
