WebAs a film there is no question the theatrical cut is way better. The pacing and tone of the films are consistent and sharp, whereas the extended cuts may be more faithful, they muck up both the pacing and many times the tone of specific acts. As the new Hobbit movies have shown, more is not necessarily better.
